Thirunallaru Sani Baghawan * NASA Scientists explore the truth ~*

Thirunallaru is actually known for the lord Saturn, even though the presiding deity is lord Shiva of 'Tharparenyeshwarar', which has been situated in Puduchery, a union territory of India. It's been holding privilege of old age before 7 ^th century.

Around the temple there have been four 'mada veethis' (car street), in which, all of these street are having the individual temples for lord Vigneshwara, also called as Ganesha and Vinayagha etc.

The other names of this place are 'Tharparenyam', 'Adhipuri thalaparishyam', 'Nagavidanga puram', 'Rames(c)hupuram' etc. The main tower has five stages upon it.

Once upon there had been a wicked demon who had invited 'Indran' (the celestial king) for fight with him. Regarding that Indran had consulted with the preceptor of devas, the 'Pragaspati' (also the planet Jupiter) whether to accept it or not.

Having replied to Indran, Pragaspathi said that instead of Indran, he should suggest a human king called 'Mukunthan', who was very brave enough to make fight against that demon. He ordered to call Mukunthan to heaven and and made him aided with the arms and the army.

Indran accepted this advice of his preceptor and invited the king Mukunthan to heaven and asked his help to fight against that demon. Having accompanied with a huge deva's army, he defeated and killed that demon at the battle.

Indran, with the gratitude of winning the battle for him, asked the king Mukunthan that what could have been granted to him as the gift of winning the war. On Having expected this from Indran, the king Mukunthan, without any reluctance, wanted Indra's 'Idol of Lord Somaskanthar' from him, which had been worshiped by the celestial king Indran for a very long time. Again he had got that idol from lord Vishnu, who is the god of preserver.

Having shocked to hear about the gift that king Mukunthan had demanded, Indran called the celestial architect 'Mayan' and ordered him to make six more duplicates of the idol of lord Somaskandar which he owned.

The next morning, Mayan had come with the seven idols of Somaskandar (included the original one) and handed over all those idols to Indran. Having pleased with the sight of those seven idols, Indran asked the king Mukunthan to select any one of the seven idols which one he wanted.

Mukunthan, as a fierce devotee of lord Shiva, had spotted the original one that Indran had owned and worshiped. There had been no way, except to grant him not only the original one but also all the other duplicates, having thought that it would have been the god's desire.

He also requested the king Mukunthan to holy erect all the seven idols, to where he wanted and asked him to grant Indran the facility to worship the idol once a year.

As per the direction of the celestial king Indran, Mukunthan had holy erected all the seven idols at seven various places.

Among the seven idols he had erected, he had worshiped the idol of Nagavidanga Thiyagharajar which has been at the nowadays Thirunallaru alias Tharparanyam. The Shiva swaroopam (idol of lord Shiva) which had been worshiped by the king Mukunthan has been called as Tharparanyeshwarar at present.

Here in this temple, lord Saturn as a blessing god, has been residing only to release all the sufferings of the people, apart from following the rigid rules and regulations. The first thing, we have to do is to worship the presiding deity of lord Shiva 'Tharparanyeshwarar', then we should come into the shrine of lord Saturn and worship him to make release of all our sufferings thereafter. Then we might enter into the shrine of the Goddess.

This temple is well known for it's golden crow as the holy transport of lord Saturn and the Emarald Lingam. Again as usual as in other temples, the idols of lord Thirukalathinathar, lord Vinayaka, lord Muruga and Nayanmars (fierce disciple of lord Shiva's) are also found.

There has been a Tamil proverb about lord Saturn "Saniyai pola koduppaarum yaarum illai; Saniyai pola keduppaarum yaarum illai"

It's meant that there would be nobody like lord Saturn who could give us all the wealth and at the same time there would be nobody like Saturn who could spoil every thing.

Lord Saturn has been called by many names as 'Pongu Sanishwarar, Mangu Sanishwarar and Astamathu Sanishwarar, etc.

Lord Saturn is always strict in his rigid rules that he didn't favor anybody irrespective of rich or poor, good people or bad people, old or young, male or female and healthy or sick people. Normally he is staying 2¹/2 years as his spell at every 'Rasi' (normally there are 12 rasis), so totally he has been traveling for 30 years to reach that same rasi.

Here 'Rasi' means the division in the horoscope of an individual at the time of one's birth, based on the birth star.When a child has been taken birth in the universe, the status of the all nine planets have been noted according their positions in the galaxy.

So the movement of all the planets, based on their spells, makes changes in the lives of not only the mankind but also to all other creatures in the world. Here the move of the planet Saturn is to be noted because of the effects it would have brought to the lives of mankind. The effects might be vary as good or bad according to the place of Saturn in their horoscope. This movement of the planet Saturn is called as 'Sani peyarchi' in Tamil language, which has been in effect for 2¹/2 years for every division (rasi) in their respective horoscope.

The way of worshiping lord Saturn here:

Having reached here, it's better to stay one day prior to the dharshan (worship),since the unseen rays of lord Saturn (from the planet) to be poured on us in order to get rid of the adverse effects of Saturn during his stay and vision (spell of 2¹/2 years) at each of the 'Rasis'.

The next day you should reach the 'Nala Theertham' and should circumambulate in clock wise direction and should worship the idols of 'Nalan - Thamayanthi - their children'. Having done this ritual, you should apply the sesame oil (gingelly oil) on your head and should take holy bath in that Nala theertham facing towards east or north by sinking 9 times deep in the water.

Afterwards you should go to the other theerthams of 'Brahmah theertham and Saraswathi theertham' and take some water and sprinkled onto your head and thus could finish the bathing rituals.

After that you might enter into the temple and worship lord Sri Sorna ganapathy and then should move to the shrine of lord Sri Subramanyar (lord Muruga).

Now it has been the turn for worshiping the presiding deity lord 'Tharparanyeshwarar' and could do some 'Archanai' (ritual of intro ourselves to god) and then should come into the shrine of Sri 'Thiyagesar'. He is the one who had been worshiped by the king Mukundhan among the seven idols of lord Somaskandhar, he had holy erected at various seven places on the earth. After having worshiped Him, we should come into the shrine of the goddess and pray for our welfare.

At last, now we should enter into the shrine of lord Saturn.During these grand festivals and all every Saturdays, there would have been a very huge crowd here. In his Shrine, that days, a lot of 'Abiseghams' have been conducted onto the idol of lord Saturn. A very rich flower decoration could have been exhibited in the shrine.

When Saturn could get hold on us, it would be termed as in various names as 'Yealarai Sani, Mangu Sani, Pongu Sani, Thangu Sani, Marana Sani, Kanda Sani and Ashtama Sani'. According to the name it holds, it could make good or adverse effects over mankind.
